A little bit about Ms. Gleason:
I started teaching 4th grade at Springville in 2018. I am also working on my Master’s degree in Reading Education through the University of Nebraska – Kearney. I love reading, crafting, camping, and playing board games with my family.
From the 4th grade Team:
In 4th grade, we have high expectations of our students. This year, we will be switching classes for certain subjects in preparation for 5th grade and middle school. All students will start their day with their homeroom teacher for Writing and Guided Reading. After lunch, students will rotate to the other 4th grade teachers for their core subjects. Mrs. Schulze will be teaching Whole Group Math, Mr. Bluett will be teaching Science and Social Studies, and Ms. Gleason will be teaching Whole Group Reading. Students will end their day with their homeroom teacher doing independent math work.
At the end of our school day, students will be filling out an assignment organizer. Assignment organizers are to be signed by an adult each night and returned to school each day. Students will receive an Eagle Ticket upon daily return of signature. Each night for homework, students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes, study weekly vocabulary words for the quiz on Fridays, and work on math facts. IXL is another resource that is available for working on Reading and Math. There may be days students do not finish work in class, and it will be sent home for completion.
